2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
2.1 Information you provide directly. When you create an account, take a quiz, request results by email, contact us, or sign up for updates, we may collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), the questions you ask, the answers you provide in quizzes, your stated life stage or goals, and any messages you send to us.
2.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, the dates and times of your visits, and how you interact with the Site (clicks, scroll depth, search queries on the Site). This is collected through cookies, local storage, server logs, and similar technologies.
2.3 Information from third parties. If you choose to authenticate using a third-party identity provider (for example, an OAuth sign-in), we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address from that provider, subject to your settings with that provider.
Sensitive information. Some information you provide on the Site (for example, fertility goals, life stage, cycle-related answers in a quiz) can be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. We treat this information with heightened care and use it only as described in this Policy. Please do not submit any information through the Site that you would not want associated with you for educational purposes, the Site is not a medical record system, and you should never submit clinical diagnostic information, insurance identifiers, or government identifiers.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- provide quiz results, recommended reading, and other features you request;
- respond to your questions, comments, and support requests;
- send transactional emails (such as account confirmations and quiz results);
- send educational updates and announcements where you have opted in;
- understand how the Site is used so we can make it clearer and more useful;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Legal bases (for users in the EEA / UK): we process personal data on the basis of (a) your consent (for example, marketing emails and non-essential cookies); (b) performance of a contract (providing the features you request); (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. With vendors that host the Site, store data, send email, provide analytics, and otherwise help us operate the Site, under contractual obligations of confidentiality and limited use. This currently includes our backend and authentication infrastructure provider, our email-delivery provider, and our analytics provider.
- Within Advanced Ministries and with The Marriage Group as needed to operate this educational initiative, on a confidential basis.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person; or to investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information, or when you post or transmit information through a feature designed to be public.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Site performs, and improve the user experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking cookies may affect Site functionality. Where required by law, we will request your consent for non-essential cookies.
6. Analytics
We use first-party and/or third-party analytics tools to understand aggregate usage of the Site (for example, which pages are most read, where users get stuck, and how features perform). Analytics data is used in aggregated and de-identified form wherever practical.
7. Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the relevant age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at hello@advancedministries.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Site, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Backups containing personal information are retained for a limited additional period for disaster-recovery purposes and then overwritten on a rolling basis.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication requirements, and regular review of our practices. No system, however, can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
10. International data transfers
We are located in the United States, and the Site is hosted in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers, where permitted by law.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you:
- request access to your personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of your personal information;
- request a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@advancedministries.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against users for exercising their privacy rights.
U.S. state-specific notices. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights under those laws, including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
12. "Do Not Track"
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to such signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. We will update this Policy if a standard is adopted.
13. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to external websites and services that we do not operate. This Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the Site with a new effective date. If the changes are material, we will provide more prominent notice (for example, by email or a notice on the Site). Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
