Fertility Awareness Method (FAM)
An umbrella term for methods that identify the fertile window through observation of biomarkers.
FAM is the broader scientific category; NFP is FAM practiced without the use of barriers or contraception during fertile days.
The terms are often used interchangeably in casual conversation, but they describe different practices.
